A comeback the Russian player secured his first title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term coach his previous coach.

Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after March of the previous year.

Success also means he has won twenty-one titles at 21 various events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on court had led some to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.

However the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

Both players traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.

The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a close final set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
